Quick Bio

Well, what about me? For a quick “bullet point” intro, view my About Page…

I was born on April 7th in Los Angeles, California and raised in the San Fernando Valley. That would make me an Aries, though I’ve found that my Chinese zodiac is more interesting and more reliable: Find out more here!

I graduated from El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, then from Moorpark College in Moorpark, California with an A.A. in Social Science. I have a B.A. in History (specialized in 19th Century European history) from Brigham Young University. I speak fluent Italian (plus a little German, Russian, French and Spanish thrown in for good measure) and am currently spending my time studying 日本語 (that’s Japanese), which I’ve been doing since fall of 2004. I spent 6 weeks in the summer of ’06 studying in Kyoto and traveling—an experience that really changed my life. I went back again in ’08 as well.

Beyond that, I am an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America and an alumnus of the Sigma Chi fraternity. I’m 5′ 10″ tall, have gray hair and greenish eyes. I currently live in Valencia, California.

I used to work for Amgen Inc. in Thousand Oaks, California as a Senior Associate, Training & Development for the information systems organization. In June 2007, after 11 years I decided that it was time for me to move on to other opportunities. Due to the worldwide economic downturn—or as I like to call it, the “Great Obama Depression”—I was caught somewhat flat-footed and returned to Amgen for a while as a consultant, but am now trying to strike out on my own in individual training and voiceover work.

I love to teach and help people learn new things, so that’s really my ultimate calling. I’m actually very seriously thinking about packing up and moving to Japan to teach English there—that’s something that hopefully isn’t in the too-distant future…
